What are the benefits of a screwcap wine?
- No chance of cork taint, spoiled or ‘corked’ wine.
- When wine is corked it means the wine has reacted with a chemical compound called TCA in the cork. It means the wine will taste like vinegar and is pretty nasty.
- Screwcaps don’t have this problem, so many premium producers are using them now.
- In Australia only 1 in 100 bottles use cork. Even the most expensive wines now have screwcaps.
